“Tom, as you know by now was very incredibly well prepared. When, where, how, what to say, what to wear.”

Speculation about the engagement began on Sunday, Jan. 5, when Zendaya arrived at the Golden Globe Awards with a diamond ring on her left hand. A source told US Weekly magazine that Zendaya “tried to keep it a secret but was very excited to show off her ring,” adding that “she didn’t think people would notice but didn’t care either way.”

While Zendaya and Holland haven’t commented on the rumors, TMZ reported that Holland proposed between Christmas and New Year’s Day, with sources close to the star couple describing the moment as “very romantic and intimate.”

It also turns out they made a permanent commitment to each other weeks before.

The British actor and the Oakland-born actress and singer got matching tattoos of each other’s initials at Boston Tattoo Co. the day before Thanksgiving, owner Jason Zube told the Chronicle.

He noted that their visit was “very low-key.” They simply made walk-in appointments at the Newbury Street location in Boston and spent about two hours in the shop
